“Our vision is to impact the community and the world.
Our call is to educate and train.”
– Jo Anne Arnett, TCCTC Presidet and Co-Founder
In 1988 the founders of TCCTC recognized the need for a place that provided the in-depth academic and biblical education required by the Body of Christ, whether called to ministry in the home, business, the congregation, or ordained ministry. A place that was both a college and a training center, providing opportunities for higher education and personal growth. A place that crossed all racial, cultural, economic, age, and denominational boundaries. A place where everyone was welcome.
Unable to find a ministry like the one envisioned, they took time and prayed – seeking God’s will and direction. Two years later – birthed in vision, sustained in prayer, and developed with the cooperation of business, educational, and pastoral leadership – TCCTC opened its doors.
Formerly known as the Center for Biblical Studies, TCCTC’s original mission has never changed:
- Provide students with a strong foundation in the Word of God
- Support and extend the ministry of the local church
- Build edifying relationships across the body of Christ
Over the years TCCTC has worked with thousands of students, hundreds of area congregations, and faculty members from every denomination.
TCCTC is unique in its range of offerings and in its focus on adults of all ages, cultures, educational backgrounds, denominations, and interests. This wide range serves to supplement and extend courses in ways that are beyond the resources of most local congregations, and provides resources for a lifetime of learning where everyone is welcome.
Our faculty are professionals who are biblical scholars, teachers, counselors, and pastors from every Christian denomination. They base their teaching on Holy Scripture, and are committed to imparting the richness of Jesus Christ to their students.
Since 1990, the 4000+ students that have come through the college either for a degree or simply to learn more about God’s Word, are impacting our community and the world. Our graduates currently serve as attorneys, business leaders, government leaders, pastors, and homemakers.
TCCTC enjoys cooperation from, membership with, and recognition by civic, governmental and business groups throughout the city. Recognized by the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce as Nonprofit Service Business of the Year TCCTC continues to stand out as a model of unity and academic excellence.
