International Study

Beyond Borders

TCCTC partners beyond our borders with other colleges and missions in fruitful study opportunities around the world.

Beyond Borders — The Classroom in Israel
TCCTC offers students the opportunity to study in Israel.  Living and studying in the land where biblical events actually took place deepens the understanding of Scripture, increases our ability to communicate its message, and expands cultural awareness and sensitivity to world events.  To facilitate such a living experience, TCCTC, in affiliation with Jerusalem University College, offers classes for academic credit and personal growth.  The courses are the Geographical and Historical Setting of the Bible, Jesus and His Times, and Short Term Pastor and Parishioner Study Tour.  All applicants must complete a medical information form since fieldwork may involve strenuous and sustained hiking in rugged terrain, and applications must be received three months prior to the program desired.  One year of college work is a prerequisite to enrolling in classes in Israel.

Geographical and Historical Settings of the Bible (GEO 410)
Instructors: Jerusalem University College Faculty
Physical Prerequisites: Complete medical exam
This intensive three-week course is designed to introduce the geography, history and archaeology of the land of the Bible. A mix of regional studies, daily and overnight field trips, walks and lectures, and map work prior to arrival, all help the student apply the geographical context of the holy land to the reality of the Biblical events as they experience the land of the Bible. Applications must be completed three months prior to the course. Two semester credits.

Students will share a unique experience of traveling together throughout Israel and studying the land of the Bible on location. Applications must be completed three months prior to the course.

Short Term Pastor and Parishioner Study Tour
Instructors: Jerusalem University College Faculty
Physical Prerequisites: Complete medical exam
This two-week non-credit introduction to the biblical setting of Scripture is not a typical tour of the Holy Land. Faculty members are specially trained in the archaeology and geography of the land. Daily hiking to visit sites not normally viewed by typical holy land tours can be rigorous and sustained in rugged terrain. Participants must be in excellent physical condition. Skilled instructors will challenge your thinking and make Bible reading and teaching come alive as never before. The program is offered in late October and again in April.
