Counseling & Addiction, taught by Richard Marks, Ph.D., four full days November 6,7,20,21, 2020.


This course focuses on the biopsychospiritual aspects of addictions in general.  Humans use substances and processes for the purpose of medicating a wounded heart and the student will learn and understand the nature of the addictive personality, the various theories of addiction, how addiction relates to loneliness, symptoms and treatment modalities.  A focus will be given to a Christian understanding of addictions and how the Christian Counselor or pastoral counselor/minister can work with those struggling with an addiction.
