MESSIANIC PROPHECY: David Hull, M.Div. (Hybrid)
You may have heard that there are hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament speaking of the Messiah to come hundreds of years later, but what are they? What do they really tell us? How are we to understand them? In this course we will seek to connect the Old and New Testaments and let the Scriptures speak for themselves. Messianic prophecy is a tremendous confirmation that the Bible is unique, God-breathed, and that Jesus is the only Savior. CHRIST AND COVENANTS: David Hull, M. Div. (On Campus)
This course is unusually significant because the Bible is profoundly a covenant book. It is divided into the Old and New Covenants (or Testaments). The word “covenant’ or ‘testament’ occurs more than 300 times in Scripture. The institution of the New Covenant in Christ’s blood shortly before the crucifixion was a pivotal event in history. The church is, by its nature, a covenant community. A solid understanding of covenants is vital for a sound understanding of the Bible, the church, and the Christian faith. SERMON PREPARATION: David Hull, M. DIV. (on campus).
Sermons are a problematic matter for several reasons Sermons are the longest portion of a worship service and not always the easiest on anybody. People might have high, but unfilled hopes for sermons and various ideas of what they should be like. This can place considerable pressure on the ones presenting them. What goes into preparation can make a huge difference for all concerned. In this course we will examine Scriptural insights, offer practical guidance, and view modern resources. We will actually demonstrate step-by-step how to prepare sermons, provide examples of completed sermons, and work with students on their own sermons in class. DIVING DEEPER INTO GOD’S WORD: David Hull, M.Div. (On Campus)
The Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 2:15 to study or be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly or accurately handling the word of truth. For this course you do not have to be an advanced student of God’s Word, but you do have to be wanting to dig deeper, to work. Too often what is called “Bible study” is just a surface affair. Whether you are a beginner or been a lover of God and His Word for some time, this course is designed to help you dig deeper and find the hidden treasures in Scripture that are so abundant. Join us as we grow in the knowledge of God’s inspired Word together! THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER: Jackie Kinsey, Executive Director TCCTC (On Campus)
There are few subjects relating to the Christian life with so little exact knowledge as that of the authority of the believer. Do we have authority that we don’t know about—that we haven’t discovered—that we’re not using? Drawing on the concept of authority from Ephesians, the student will learn how such authority can be used to confront demonic power intrusions both personal and corporate. In The Authority of the Believer, John MacMillan writes that the rapidly approaching end of the age is witnessing a tremendous increase in the activity of the powers of darkness. In this course you will learn; What is your authority • How to exercise authority • How to break the power of the enemy • What are the weapons of our warfare. GREEK IN FIVE WEEKS: David Hull, M. Div. (On Campus)
This course is for those; a) who do not expect to take a full-length course in New Testament Greek, b) are not sure whether they will take one, or c) want to get a head-start on the Greek course scheduled to start in a few weeks. Students new to Greek often discover that they do not have a good grasp of basic language concepts. Learning Greek enables one to gain many insights into the meaning of God’s Word without depending on someone else. Learn fundamentals that will help you gain immediate benefit in your personal Bible study and in lesson and sermon preparation. Even if you never take a full-length Greek course, this one will help you learn how to use Bible study resources that make use of Greek. Within Ephesians 4:11-16 we are told that God gave teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. Perhaps you really want to serve in this vital area of ministry, but are aware that you could well use more training yourself. This will be a practical course in which the instructor will work together with the students on lesson preparation in their current and prospective teaching situations. LEARN AND TEACH THE BIBLE WITH LOGICOLORS: David Hull, M.Div. (On Campus)
LOGICOLORS is a unique, simple coding system. With it one can do many things better. Developed by the instructor, it was especially intended for learning and teaching the Bible, but it can be used with other subjects as well. It can help you memorize, organize, analyze, visualize, write, speak, clarify, highlight, and display information. It can enhance your study aids, papers, lists, presentations, tables, charts, diagrams, posters, handouts, and other teaching materials in a meaningful way. THE ANGEL OF THE LORD: David Hull, M.Div. (On Campus)
“The Angel of the LORD” or “The Angel of God” is a mysterious Being that appears dozens of times in the Old Testament from Genesis to Zechariah, but Who is He? Registration FAQs
Registration and tuition fees are due five business days before scheduled classes. (Registration is not official until the Registrar’s Office receives the semester registration form with payment. To register by mail, complete and mail the registration form with your tuition payment.
Enrollment at Tallahassee Christian College is contingent upon honoring relationships and covenants. No grades will be issued for courses, nor will students be permitted to re-enroll, unless accounts are current. Students are accountable for the courses in which they enroll and the assigned tuition and material fees. Fees are to be paid during the semester in which classes are taken.
What is the appropriate course load for me?
Students may attend classes on a full- or part-time basis. Twelve undergraduate or nine graduate semester hours constitutes a normal full-time load.
An academic advisor must approve a course load of more than twelve undergraduate or nine graduate semester hours. Students may not register for or receive credit for more than eighteen semester hours within one semester. Core courses that receive below a grade of B (graduate) or C (undergraduate) must be repeated.
Students are expected to pace themselves to meet their deadlines and maintain a balanced life. If the course load proves to be too great, students should consult an academic advisor about possible adjustments.
I have a question about classes. Who should I contact?
The Registrar’s Office is the official custodian of permanent academic records of all past and currently enrolled students at Tallahassee Christian College. Students should consult with this office regarding questions concerning registration records, dropping and adding courses, cancellation of registration, admission applications, withdrawals, financial arrangements, and course locations and meeting times. Any changes should be reported to the Registrar’s Office (e.g.: permanent and local address, name, social security, enrollment status, selection of major and minor areas of study, etc.). Transcripts are also requested from this office.
